AGS GUITAR PROGRAM IN MORDEN

I teach primarily a “fingerstyle” approach (a la Chet Atkins or Bruce Cockburn) which focuses heavily on chords, as well as theory and music notation. This fingerstyle technique has many similarities to the classical approach including hand position and proper guitar posture but focuses on contemporary music styles. I consider this to be a solid foundation for any style of guitar playing. Students also learn the proper way to use a pick for strumming and picking melodies and for lead guitar. The goal is to become a well-rounded musician able to play a variety of styles.

I especially enjoy teaching beginners with little or no prior experience.

Not only do I promise to improve your child's guitar playing but I expect to truly transform their life (confidence, problem-solving, discipline, social skills, etc.) through the power of music.

Once we have your signed Student Lesson Policy Agreement we will proceed with booking your first lesson.

• Your GUITAR! - If you don't have a guitar, PLEASE ASK me for recommendations, as the guitar you learn on is very important! I also have several for rent here in studio for $30/month.

• Three ring binder (1 inch) with some loose-leaf.

We would kindly ask that there be no parking on the driveway, except to drop off students. There is usually ample parking on the street if needed. Thank you!

To ensure your child’s success in learning an instrument I NEED your involvement in this as well. In fact, most of the responsibility lies with YOU! This means ensuring that your child shows up on time for every lesson, and that he/she practices the lesson for that week. I truly feel I owe any success I’ve had with playing music to the encouragement that I received from my parents and to the fact that they also encouraged me to practice my lessons even when I didn’t want to.

Lessons will begin Thursday, October 2nd thru till Tuesday, June 30th.

There will be NO GUITAR LESSONS on the following statutory/school holidays:

Oct. 13 - Monday - Thanksgiving

Dec. 22 - Jan. 2 - Christmas Break

Feb. 16 - Monday - Louis Riel Day

Mar. 30 – Apr. 3 - Spring Break

May 18 - Victoria Day

Payment for the current term will be in the form of 9 payments due the first of each month from October thru June. We accept cash, cheque (payable to “Ken Hiebert”), or e-transfer to ken.hiebert69@gmail.com.

There are 31 scheduled lessons for this term at $26.00 per lesson. This works out to $115.00 per month plus lesson books (if applicable).

Refunds cannot be made for missed lessons, however if sufficient notice is given an attempt will be made to reschedule.

By participating in lessons or events at Axent Guitar Studio, you acknowledge that video and audio recordings may be made for various purposes, including but not limited to quality control, performance review, student progress tracking, lesson content creation, and promotional material development.

You consent to Axent Guitar Studio using photographic and video recordings taken on our premises, during digital lessons (e.g. via Zoom or Skype) and at any workshops, concerts, or events we host. These recordings may be used for administrative, educational, and promotional purposes.

By enrolling with Axent Guitar Studio, you agree that audio and video recording may occur at any time and grant your permission to be recorded. If you wish to revoke this consent, you may do so at any time by contacting us directly via email.
